DELDOT WORKSHOP
July 8, 2005

DelDOT is holding a Public Workshop regarding its plan for proposed improvements along the Kennett Pike in Centreville. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church (intersection of Kennett Pike and Old Kennett Road). The public is invited to attend any time between 3 PM and 8 PM.

A Public Workshop was held in October 2004, where three packages of improvements were presented to review and comment. The concept packages offered a variety of treatments aimed at reducing speeds through Centreville, improving safety for all users of the public right of way, improving access from side streets onto Kennett Pike and coordinating elements from the Centreville Village Plan.

DelDOT has completed further study of the concept packages and comments received in October. The Department is prepared to present its findings along with a preferred concept to move forward into design. The public will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed comments and offer comments. In addition, a short presentation will be given at 4 PM and repeated at 5:30 PM. The presentation will describe the purpose of the workshop and provide details of the technical analysis of the concept packages and the preferred concept.
