8th Annual Make-a-Wish 10K/5K Run & Walk in the village
April 22, 2007

This event is sponsored by the Make-a-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc., a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of children fighting life-threatening medical conditions." ... "[Runners] were helping make wishes come true for some very special children!" This year was one of the best! There were three times as many runners/walkers as last year (maybe 150-175). Cars were lined up on both sides of the Kennett Pike from gateway to gateway -- many of which held entire families who were participating. The 10K started at 8:30 from Buckley's Tavern, went south on Kennett Pike, looped around the countryside, and finished at Canby Grove Park. The 5K also began at Buckley's (at 9:40), but it went north, looped on Snuff Mill Road, and finished back at Buckley's.
